Johnny Appleseed, also known as John Chapman, was an American folk hero and pioneer nurseryman who introduced apple trees to large parts of Pennsylvania, Ohio, Indiana, and Illinois. He was a NOMAD, travelling from town to town and planting apple trees wherever he went. He was also a SOWER, spreading apple seeds throughout the Midwest. His legacy as a folk hero has endured for centuries, and he is remembered for his generosity and kindness.
