Joey of the Starliters is a singer and songwriter from the 1950s. His real name is Joseph DiNicola and his stage name is Joey Dee. He is best known for his hit single 'The Peppermint Twist' which was released in 1961. He was the lead singer of the group The Starliters, who had several other hits including 'What Kind of Love Is This' and 'SHOUT'. Joey Dee and The Starliters were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2012.
