Jazzman Eubie BLAKE was an American pianist, composer, and lyricist. He was a major figure in the Harlem Renaissance and is considered one of the most influential jazz musicians of the early 20th century. He wrote over 300 songs and was a prolific performer, playing ragtime, jazz, and popular music. He was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 1970.
