Etta Jones was an American jazz singer who was known for her soulful and powerful voice. She was born in Aiken, South Carolina in 1928 and began singing professionally in the 1950s. She released several albums throughout her career, including her most successful album, Don't Go to Strangers, which was released in 1960. She was also a frequent collaborator with other jazz musicians, such as organist Jack McDuff and saxophonist Houston Person. Jones passed away in 2001 at the age of 72.
