Milt Jackson was an American jazz vibraphonist, pianist, composer, and bandleader. He is also known as 'BAGS' due to his nickname acquired in the 1940s. He was a member of the Modern Jazz Quartet and was one of the most important figures in the hard bop style of jazz. Jackson's style was characterized by bluesy improvisations and melodic improvisations. He was also known for his collaborations with other jazz musicians such as John Coltrane, Dizzy Gillespie, and Thelonious Monk.
