Jazz pianist Bill Evans was an American jazz musician and composer who is widely considered one of the greatest jazz pianists of all time. He was a part of Miles Davis's 'Second Great Quintet' and his influence on jazz piano playing has been profound. Evans was known for his lyrical, introspective style and his use of impressionistic harmony. He was also a prolific composer, writing over 50 compositions. His most famous composition is 'Waltz for Debby'. Evans died in 1980 at the age of 51.
