Jane EYRE is the protagonist of Charlotte Bronte's classic novel of the same name. She is a young woman who is sent to Thornfield Hall, a large estate in the English countryside, to serve as a governess for the ward of the mysterious Mr. Rochester. Jane eventually falls in love with Rochester, but their relationship is complicated by his dark past and the secrets he keeps from her. Jane ultimately leaves Thornfield and embarks on a journey of self-discovery that leads her to a new life.
