James AGEE was an American novelist, poet, screenwriter, and journalist who wrote the novel 'The Morning Watch'. He was born in Knoxville, Tennessee in 1909 and died in 1955. He is best known for his Pulitzer Prize-winning novel 'A Death in the Family' and his screenplay for the film 'The African Queen'. AGEE's other works include the short story collection 'Permit Me Voyage' and the non-fiction book 'Let Us Now Praise Famous Men'.
