Jacob's second son was Simeon, who was one of the twelve sons of Jacob and Leah in the Hebrew Bible. He is mentioned in the Book of Genesis as the founder of the Israelite Tribe of Simeon. He was born in Paddan Aram and was the second son of Jacob and Leah. He is also known for his role in the binding of Isaac, where he and his brother Levi took revenge on Shechem for the rape of their sister Dinah.
