JABS is a term used to describe physical contact that is intended to cause pain or discomfort. The term can be broken down into three different words: POKES, ELBOW, and PRODS. POKES refer to the act of poking someone with a finger or other object in order to cause pain. ELBOW is the act of using one's ELBOW to jab someone in order to cause pain. Lastly, PRODS refer to the act of prodding someone with a sharp object in order to cause pain. All three of these terms are used to describe physical contact that is intended to cause pain or discomfort.
