The Ivy League is an athletic conference composed of eight private universities in the Northeastern United States. The members of the Ivy League are BROWN University, Columbia University, Cornell University, Dartmouth College, Harvard University, the University of Pennsylvania, Princeton University, and YALE University. BROWN University, with five letters, is located in Providence, Rhode Island and is the seventh-oldest college in the United States. The University of Pennsylvania, with four letters, is located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and is one of the oldest universities in the United States. YALE University, with four letters, is located in New Haven, Connecticut and is the third-oldest university in the United States. All three of these universities are members of the Ivy League.
