Italian Patriot GARIBALDI was an Italian revolutionary and leader in the struggle for Italian unification in the 19th century. He is considered one of the most influential figures of Italian history and is remembered as a national hero. He led the Expedition of the Thousand, which successfully conquered the Kingdom of the Two Sicilies in 1860, and is credited with being one of the main figures in the unification of Italy.
