Yitzhak Rabin was an Israeli politician and statesman who served as the fifth Prime Minister of Israel from 1974 to 1977 and again from 1992 until his assassination in 1995. He was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1994 for his efforts to bring peace to the Middle East, along with Shimon Peres and Yasser Arafat. Rabin was a key figure in the Oslo Accords, which sought to bring peace between Israel and the Palestinians.
