The Israeli leader with an eye patch is Moshe DAYAN, a former military leader and politician who served as the fourth Chief of Staff of the Israel Defense Forces from 1953 to 1958. He was also a defense minister in the government of Levi Eshkol and later in Golda Meir's government. DAYAN was known for his iconic black eyepatch, which he wore after losing his left eye in a battle during the 1948 Arab-Israeli War.
