Moshe DAYAN was an Israeli military leader and politician who served as the Chief of Staff of the Israel Defense Forces during the 1948 Arab–Israeli War, and later as Defense Minister during the Six-Day War in 1967. He was known for his iconic eye patch, which he wore due to a battle injury. He was also a political figure, serving as a member of the Knesset and Cabinet, and was considered a national hero in Israel.
