Islamic Law, also known as Sharia, is a set of religious principles which form part of the Islamic tradition. It is derived from the teachings of the Quran and the Sunnah (the practice of the Prophet Muhammad). Sharia covers many aspects of life including religious observance, family law, inheritance, and criminal law. It is based on the belief that all actions should be in accordance with God's will. Sharia is applied differently in different countries, depending on the interpretation of the Islamic scholars.
