Islam's largest denomination is Sunni. Sunni Islam is the largest branch of Islam, with approximately 85-90% of all Muslims being Sunni. It is based on the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad and the Quran. Sunnis believe in the five pillars of Islam, including the declaration of faith, prayer, fasting, charity, and pilgrimage to Mecca. They also believe in the importance of following the example of the Prophet Muhammad and his companions. Sunnis are divided into four major schools of thought: Hanafi, Maliki, Shafi'i, and Hanbali.
