The Iroquois League was a powerful alliance of Native American nations in the Northeastern United States. The members of the league were the Onondagas (9 letters) and the Senecas (7 letters). The Onondagas were a tribe of the Iroquoian language family, located in what is now New York State. The Senecas were also an Iroquoian-speaking people, located in what is now western New York and Pennsylvania. Both tribes were part of the Iroquois League, which was formed in the 16th century and lasted until the early 19th century.
