Irish writer Brendan Behan was an Irish poet, novelist, playwright, and short story writer. He was born in Dublin in 1923 and is best known for his autobiographical works such as Borstal Boy and The Quare Fellow. He was a prominent figure in the Irish literary scene of the 1950s and 1960s and was a major influence on the Irish literary revival. He died in 1964 at the age of 41.
