Brendan Behan was an Irish writer and playwright who is best known for his works such as The Quare Fellow, Borstal Boy, and An Giall. He was born in Dublin in 1923 and was a member of the IRA. He wrote about the struggles of the Irish people and their fight for independence. He was also a poet and a songwriter. He died in 1964 at the age of 41.
