The Iris family member is CROCUS, a genus of flowering plants in the iris family. It includes around 90 species of perennials growing from corms. They have linear leaves and flowers with six petal-like tepals in purple, blue, white, yellow, or pink. CROCUS is native to woodland, scrub, and meadows from sea level to alpine tundra in central and southern Europe, North Africa and the Middle East, across Central Asia to western China.
