In the Pink Panther, Inspector Clouseau is the bumbling French police detective who is assigned to investigate the theft of the Pink Panther diamond. He is portrayed by Peter Sellers in the original films and Steve Martin in the 2006 remake. Clouseau is known for his slapstick humor, poor investigative skills, and thick French accent. Despite his incompetence, he is able to solve cases with the help of his assistant, Cato Fong.
