Insectivorous plants are plants that obtain nutrients from trapping and digesting insects. Two examples of insectivorous plants are Drosera and Sundew. Drosera, commonly known as the sundew, is a genus of carnivorous plants that have leaves covered in sticky hairs that trap insects. Sundew is a species of Drosera that is native to Europe, Asia, and North America. It has long, slender leaves with red or pink tentacles that secrete a sticky substance to capture prey.
