The Inuit, also known as Eskimos, are an indigenous people of the Arctic regions of North America. They are traditionally hunters and fishers, and have adapted to the extreme cold climate of the Arctic. The Inuit language is spoken by approximately 50, 000 people in Canada, Greenland, and Alaska. Inuit culture is based on a strong sense of community and respect for the environment. They have a rich oral tradition, and their art and music are highly valued.
