Inner city areas are often referred to as ghettos or barrios. A ghetto is an area of a city in which members of a minority group live, typically as a result of social, legal, or economic pressure. A BARRIO is a Spanish term for a neighborhood or district within a city, especially one with a large Hispanic population. Both terms are used to describe inner city areas that are characterized by poverty, crime, and a lack of resources.
