Ross Perot is an American industrialist and former politician who ran for president in 1992 and 1996. He was born in 1930 in Texarkana, Texas and founded Electronic Data Systems (EDS) in 1962. He also founded Perot Systems in 1988. He is known for his philanthropy and support of veterans' causes. His nickname is 'The Chief' and he is a member of the Forbes 400 list of wealthiest Americans. His son, Ross Perot Jr., is also an industrialist and entrepreneur.
