Indigenous Canadians are the original inhabitants of Canada, and include two distinct groups: the CREE and the INUIT. The CREE are an Indigenous people of North America who live in an area stretching from the northern United States to northern Alberta and Saskatchewan in Canada. The INUIT are a group of culturally similar Indigenous peoples inhabiting the Arctic regions of Greenland, Canada, and Alaska. Both the CREE and the INUIT have a long history of living in Canada and continue to play an important role in Canadian culture today.
