The Indian province of Orissa, also known as Odisha, is located in the eastern part of the country. It is bordered by the states of West Bengal, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh and Andhra Pradesh. It has a population of over 41 million people and is the 9th largest state in India. The capital city of Orissa is Bhubaneswar. The state is known for its rich cultural heritage, with many temples and monuments. It is also home to some of India's most important rivers, including the Mahanadi, Brahmani and Baitarani.
