The Deccan Plateau is a large plateau in India that covers most of the southern part of the country. It is bordered by the Eastern Ghats and the Western Ghats mountain ranges, and is made up of mostly flat terrain. The plateau is the source of many of India's major rivers, including the Godavari, Krishna, and Kaveri. It is also home to some of India's most important cities, such as Hyderabad and Bangalore.
