Imposing upon someone is an act of forcing one's will or opinion on another person without their consent. The term 'impose upon' can be broken down into three words: INFLICT, FOIST, and OBTRUDE. To INFLICT is to cause harm or suffering to someone, while foisting is to force something on someone without their permission. Lastly, obtruding is to thrust oneself or one's ideas upon another person without their consent. All three words are used to describe the act of imposing upon someone.
