Tara Lipinski is an American figure skater who won the 1998 Olympic gold medal in ladies' singles. She is also the 1997 World Champion and the 1997-1998 Grand Prix Final Champion. Lipinski began skating at the age of six and quickly rose to fame, becoming the youngest person ever to win a World Figure Skating Championship at the age of 14. She retired from competitive skating in 2002 and has since become a television commentator for figure skating events.
