John Rolfe was the husband of Pocahontas, a Native American woman who is remembered for her association with the colonial settlement at Jamestown, Virginia. Rolfe was an Englishman who arrived in Virginia in 1610 and married Pocahontas in 1614. He is credited with introducing tobacco as a profitable crop to the Virginia Colony. Rolfe and Pocahontas had one son, Thomas Rolfe, who was born in 1615.
