Wes Craven was an American film director, writer, producer, and actor known for his work in the horror genre. He is best remembered for creating the iconic horror films A Nightmare on Elm Street and Scream. Craven's other notable works include The Hills Have Eyes, The Last House on the Left, and Red Eye. He was also a pioneer in the use of horror-comedy, which he explored in films such as Vampire in Brooklyn and Cursed. Craven died in 2015 at the age of 76.
