HOPED (FOR) is a term that can be expressed in two different ways: WISHED and PRAYED. Wishing is an expression of hope, usually for something that one desires but may not be able to obtain. Praying is a form of expressing hope, often for something that one cannot control or influence. Both wishing and praying are expressions of hope, and both involve the idea of hoping for something that may or may not come to fruition.
