Hal Holbrook is an American actor best known for his role as the mysterious lawyer, 'Mitch McDeere, ' in the 1993 film adaptation of John Grisham's novel, 'The Firm.' Holbrook has been acting since the 1950s and has won numerous awards, including an Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Miniseries or Movie for his performance in the 1976 television movie, 'Ike: The War Years.' He also received an Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actor for his role in the 2007 film, 'Into the Wild.'
