Ilya Kovalchuk is a professional hockey player from Russia who currently plays for the Los Angeles Kings in the National Hockey League (NHL). He was drafted first overall in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft by the Atlanta Thrashers and has since played for the New Jersey Devils, SKA Saint Petersburg, and the Montreal Canadiens. Kovalchuk is a four-time NHL All-Star and has won two Olympic medals with Team Russia. He is known for his offensive prowess and has scored over 400 goals in his career.
