Orel Hershiser is a former Major League Baseball pitcher who played for the Los Angeles Dodgers, Cleveland Indians, San Francisco Giants, and New York Mets. He is best known for his record-breaking 1988 season with the Dodgers, when he set a major league record by pitching 59 consecutive scoreless innings. He was also the MVP of the 1988 National League Championship Series and the 1989 World Series. He was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 2020.
