Helen Hayes was an American actress who was known as the 'First Lady of the American Theatre'. She was one of the few people to have won an Emmy, a Grammy, an Oscar and a Tony Award. She was also the first female actor to win an Academy Award for Best Actress in 1931 for her role in the film 'The Sin of Madelon Claudet'. Hayes had a long and successful career in theatre, film and television, appearing in over 80 films and television shows.
