Harridans are women who are characterized as being unpleasant and difficult to deal with. They are often referred to as nags, HAGS, and CRONES. A nag is a woman who constantly complains or scolds someone, while a hag is an old woman who is often seen as ugly or unpleasant. A crone is an old woman who is usually seen as wise and respected, but also as having a harsh and bitter personality. All of these terms are used to describe a harridan.
