Valerie Harper is an American actress best known for her role as Rhoda Morgenstern on the 1970s television series The Mary Tyler Moore Show and its spin-off, Rhoda. She won four Emmy Awards and a Golden Globe Award for her work on these shows. Harper also starred in the sitcoms Valerie and City. In addition to her acting career, Harper is an author and has appeared in several Broadway plays.
