The term 'Hari of Espionage' refers to Mata Hari, a Dutch exotic dancer and courtesan who was executed in France for espionage during World War I. She was born Margaretha Geertruida Zelle in the Netherlands in 1876 and became famous for her exotic dance performances in Paris. During the war, she was accused of being a double agent, working for both the French and German governments. She was convicted of espionage and executed by firing squad in 1917.
