Harbor platforms, also known as piers, are structures built out into a body of water to provide berthing and mooring facilities for boats and ships. They are typically constructed from wood, concrete, or steel and are used to provide access to the shoreline. Piers can also be used to provide protection from waves and storms, as well as providing a platform for recreational activities such as fishing.
