Haliatus albicilla, commonly known as the WHITE-rumped Swift, is a species of swift found in tropical and subtropical regions of South America. The WHITE-rumped Swift is a small bird with a WHITE RUMP and a black back. Its scientific name, Haliatus albicilla, comes from the Latin words for 'WHITE' and 'RUMP'. The WHITE-rumped Swift is classified as an ERN, or Endangered Species. It is threatened by habitat loss due to deforestation and urbanization.
