Gymnastics is a sport that requires strength, flexibility, agility, coordination, and balance. It is divided into six events: BEAM, VAULT, RINGS, uneven bars, balance BEAM, and pommel horse. BEAM is a 4-letter event in which gymnasts perform on a narrow apparatus, usually 4 inches wide. VAULT is a 5-letter event in which gymnasts run down a runway, jump onto a springboard, and perform an aerial maneuver before landing on a mat. RINGS is a 5-letter event in which gymnasts perform a series of swings, circles, and holds while suspended from two RINGS.
