The Gulf of California State is located in the northwestern part of Mexico and is also known as the Sea of Cortez. It is bordered by the Mexican states of Sonora (6 letters) to the north, Baja California to the west, and Sinaloa to the south. The Gulf of California is home to a wide variety of marine life, including whales, dolphins, sea turtles, and many species of fish. It is also an important source of food for local communities.
