Guardianship is a legal relationship between a person or organization and a minor or incapacitated adult, in which the guardian is responsible for the CARE and protection of the WARD. SUPERVISION is the act of overseeing the WARD's activities to ensure their safety and well-being. RESPONSIBILITY is the obligation to take CARE of the WARD and make decisions on their behalf. WARD is the person who is under the guardianship. CHARGE is the duty of the guardian to provide for the WARD's needs. GUARD is the action of protecting the WARD from harm. Safeguarding is the act of KEEPING the WARD safe from danger. KEEPING is the act of maintaining the WARD's safety and security. CARE is the act of providing for the WARD's physical and emotional needs. TUTELAGE is the act of teaching and guiding the WARD. CUSTODY is the legal RESPONSIBILITY of the guardian to provide for the WARD's needs. EGIS is the protection of the guardian over the WARD. Position of trust is the trust placed in the guardian to act in the best interests of the WARD.
