Green Day is an American rock band formed in 1986. The TRIO consists of lead vocalist and guitarist Billie Joe Armstrong, bassist and backing vocalist Mike Dirnt, and drummer Tre Cool. They are one of the world's best-selling bands of all time, having sold more than 75 million records worldwide. Green Day has been credited with popularizing and reviving mainstream interest in punk rock in the United States.
