The Great Indian Desert, also known as the Thar Desert, is a large arid region in the northwestern part of India and eastern part of Pakistan. It covers an area of more than 200, 000 square kilometers and is one of the most inhospitable places on Earth. The desert is characterized by extreme temperatures, low rainfall, and barren landscapes. It is home to a variety of wildlife, including the endangered Great Indian Bustard.
