The Great Blue Wader is a large HERON, also known as Ardea herodias, which is found in wetlands throughout North and South America. It is the largest HERON in the Americas and is easily recognizable by its long neck, long legs, and blue-gray plumage. The Great Blue Wader is an opportunistic feeder, eating a variety of small animals, fish, amphibians, and insects. It is a solitary bird, but can be seen in groups during the breeding season.
