Grain threshing is a process of separating the edible parts of a grain from its inedible husk. A FLAIL is a tool used to thresh grain, consisting of a long handle with a shorter stick attached to it by a chain or rope. The shorter stick is swung against the grain to separate the edible parts from the husk. Flails have been used for centuries to thresh grain and are still used in some parts of the world today.
